Only You

Hello there my scrappy friends!

Yesterday I spent my morning working on a canvas.  I had forgotten JUST how much I enjoy working on a canvas piece - loads of gesso, paint and texture paste = no warped paper!!!

So I combined two challenges for this one:

With the Mood Board from Scrap Around the World:

For the mood board, I was OBVIOUSLY inspired by the colours.  Also the saying on the top right will ring true for me during my time of healing.  Inspiration was also drawn from the wood, the rust and the metal flower in the girls' hair.

So - here is my canvas, it's 12x12 inches in size.

I am extremely proud of this piece and it will hang somewhere on a wall where I can find space!  Right now there are SO many pictures of my beloved late husband.....

I've included loads of close-ups to show the layering and also all the texture that is within this piece.

Thanks so much for stopping by on my site to take a look!!

  6. What a stunning canvas! I love all the greens you used and the rust perfect compliment! Lovely photo! I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my second husband when I was 35 and he was 42. Like you it was sudden and my children were my strength! You've paid him great homage with this piece in sharing his passion for nature. Hang it where all can see, it's beautiful! All the best from SATW :) Would love to read your Beary blog. langeatheart@hotmail.com <3
