Your Beautiful Heart

Hiya!

Another stunner this week at CSI.  I *want* this on canvas for Isabella's room!

And this is how I solved it yesterday:

Scheme : Check
Evidence : butterflies, glitter, flowers, watercolour, bokeh
Testimony : I chose a Fairy Tale Prompt : something that happened to change my day

My journaling is handwritten on card, behind the photograph:
It is IMPOSSIBLE to have had bad day with you in our lives!  With your kind, caring and considerate heart, you always manage to brighten our day and lift our spirits.
Recently, I was a little 'down' and you came up to me, tucked my hair behind my hear, put your little hand on my cheek, looked deep into my eyes and said "I lubb you mommy".  Right at that very moment, all my woes melted away and for a brief moment, I was able to see myself and life in general through your eyes.
Isabella my love - your heart is a beautiful one. Kind, generous, sensitive, caring and incredibly considerate.  You are one of a kind, truly.

Some close-ups!

Thanks for stopping by!
(I'm in a mad rush, hence the lack of more notes!!)

Everyday Moments

Hey there,

I honestly didn't think I'd get the latest Case at CSI solved, what with Isabella being sick for more than a week (*sob*); and it was beginning to upset me because it is utterly lovely and I was starting to get that old FOMO feeling.

I mean, it's lovely right???

BUT daddy to the rescue - I tucked myself away in my Craft Room this morning for a few hours and this is what I came up with.

Scheme : Check
Evidence : flowers, mixed media background, jewels, stamps, weave something
Testimony : I procrastinated for a.g.e.s. on which prompt to use from the Angelfire site, so I eventually just kinda combined a few surrounding memories and a perfect day.

My journaling is typed on the back:
My own childhood memories consist of endless hours playing Barbie or baby dolls; snakes & ladders and Monopoly; riding my bike from dawn 'til dusk; playing house.  I look at children today and I wonder what childhood memories they will have, considering how big a part technology plays.  Will they remember sitting around fiddling with some sort of device?
It is for this reason that your daddy and I want to make as many fond childhood memories for you - REAL ones, that involve your imagination!
We take you to many places where you can learn about animals or the World around you; where you can GROW.  When we are holed up at home on cold wintry days, we build forts and tents inside with numerous blankets and towels; or we sit in your playroom, playing dolly house or building a puzzle.
When we are out and about, we allow you to be free to be a CHILD so that you can build your very own childhood memories.  Ones that you will look back on with fondness and recall "Remember when.....?"  We want to create stories and moments for you to regale to your very own children one day.  We want to start something which we hope you will follow through with your own precious children: Building Memories from Everyday Moments.

From the moment I saw the image in this challenge, I knew what I wanted the design of my LO to be.  Needless to say, when I got down to it, I ended up elaborating somewhat on my design and had to tweak back a bit.

Here are some close up images.

The background was first misted, then I lay strips of washi, then I used a mask and Gesso'd a design and then I misted some more and then I also used some of my Gelato's to create the water colour blotches.

Thanks for coming to take a look!

The Butterfly

Hey,

Do any of you out there have withdrawals and get TOTALLY grumpified if you haven't scrapped in a while!!  Sheesh!!  I have been moody as all heck ... until yesterday :-).

Here is the latest CSI challenge as well as a DEEEvine sketch from EmGem.  I love her work.  I really do.  Always totally unique.

Scheme : Check (you have to look carefully for the celadon green, but it's there! promise!)
Evidence : flowers, metal (eyelets), grid pattern, tag, leaves
Testimony : I downloaded the 501 prompts and decided to go with a Haiku
A beautiful day
The sky is Autumn Blue
A flash of orange - a Butterfly!

Gently it flits
From bloom to bloom
Stopping only for a drink of nectar

So pretty to watch
As it floats on a breeze
Gently taking it to new heights

Such a pleasure to observe
Mother Nature at play
Beautifying our World

So if any of you "know" me by now - you'd know that orange is not my friend.  The two of us, we just don't get along.  However, I really liked the shade of orange in this scheme ... and you know what, it all just works so well.

So this is what I came up with for this challenge.

For my last few LO's I've not been in the "mood" to do too much Mixed Media.  I really actually just want to get to a place where I'm more comfortable in it and not just making a hot mess!  So the only wet medium here is a light spritz of white mist in the bottom right corner.

I REALLY enjoyed doing this LO.  Here are some close ups.

Mad, mad, MAD about those resin flowers!  They are so pretty!!!  The leaves behind it is a strip of ribbon (which I'd previously won via CSI!).  It is in this image where you can see the celadon green leaf design on the white paper.

I wanted the titling to pop out, so I drew on it randomly with a gold gel pen.

These tiny pegs do my head in!  Cuteness!  These I sprayed with Dazzles.  You can't see it in the image, but they are wonderfully sparkly.

Thanks so much for stopping by - and for leaving comments.  I'm terrible at that; I read ALL your blogs in my Bloglovin feed, but I rarely comment.  SUCH bad manners!!

Silly Little CopyCat

Heya!

Another GREAT challenge over at CSI this week!

And this is what I rustled up to solve the case today.

Scheme : Check
Evidence : window accents and jute
Testimony : I used the word voyage and scribbled on the back

I am utterly fascinated with the blank canvas that is a little person, in their voyage to self-discovery. I have OFTEN wondered what type of 'personalities' children would have were they to have grown up in a different household, with different ideals or even in a different culture.
Again - this whole nature vs. nurture thing jumps out at me.
I find it amazing how easily they (unwittingly?) develop certain personality traits from their parents - be it the manner in which they speak or how they stand or how they gesticulate or just in their general mannerisms.
My Isabella, you are now fully entrenched in the stage where you are a total copycat.  Everything mommy does, you want to do to.  Makeup, glasses, LIPGLOSS (we are both official addicts!), dresses, pretty shoes.  It's wonderful.  It's fascinating.  It's wholly precious.
And in this image - YES, you are wearing my sunglasses; and YES, they are upside down - but heaven help us if we mention that fact to you, because they are absolutely NOT upside down!  They are right way up!
You have SO much more exploring to do - literally and figuratively. I will be there with you every step of the way.

Some closies:

Thanks for popping in to take a look.  Have a glorious day!
